Can I Add Addon Domains Without Changing DNS?

No, you must change the nameservers before adding an addon domain.

An addon domain is a fully functional domain that you can add to your existing hosting plan, but in order for it to work properly, the domain’s nameservers need to be pointed to our hosting.

Why Changing Nameservers is Necessary

Nameservers are responsible for directing traffic to the correct server where your website files are stored. Without changing the nameservers to point to our servers, the domain won't know where to find your website files.

Steps to Add an Addon Domain

  1. Change the Nameservers:

    • Log in to the domain registrar where the addon domain was purchased.

    • Update the domain’s nameservers to the following:

      ns1.clouduxe.cloud
      ns2.clouduxe.cloud
  2. Wait for Propagation: DNS changes can take 24 to 72 hours to propagate across the internet.

  3. Add the Domain in cPanel:

    • Log in to your cPanel account.

    • Navigate to the Domains section and click on Addon Domains.

    • Enter the new domain name and select the directory for its files.

Once the nameservers have been updated and the domain is added in cPanel, you can start using the addon domain as a separate site on your hosting plan.
