# How to Delete Categories in WordPress

If you want to remove a WordPress category, follow these instructions:

* Log in to the **WordPress dashboard**.
* From the **Dashboard** menu, go to **Posts** and click on **Categories**.

* Hover your mouse over the category you want to remove and click on **Delete**.
* A confirmation option will appear. Confirm with **OK**.
