How Can I Transfer My Domain to Clouduxe?
Transferring your domain to Clouduxe is a hassle-free process. While transfer times may vary depending on the TLD and current registrar, most transfers are completed smoothly, often within a few days. Importantly, transferring your domain will not affect your hosting, and the nameservers will remain the same during the process.
Before You Begin the Transfer
To ensure a seamless transfer, it is essential to remove all restrictions on the domain and verify that your contact details are correct. The verification email will be sent to the administrative email associated with your domain, so make sure this is accurate. Additionally, you'll need to have your EPP code handy (retrievable from your current registrar).
Check the following steps before initiating the transfer:
Domain Age: Has your domain been registered for more than 60 days? Domains typically cannot be transferred within 60 days of registration.
Recent Changes: Have there been any changes to your email, first/last name, or organization name in the past 60 days? After such changes, domains are usually locked for 60 days for security reasons.
Unlock the Domain: Ensure that the registrar lock is disabled. Some domains are locked to prevent unauthorized transfers, so check with your current provider to unlock the domain.
EPP Code: Retrieve your EPP code (sometimes called an Authorization or Transfer Code) from your current registrar’s control panel.
The EPP code is required to initiate the transfer, so keep it accessible when starting the process.
Steps to Transfer Your Domain
Follow these steps to transfer your domain to Clouduxe:
Log in to your Clouduxe account at Clouduxe.com.
Navigate to Domains -> Domain Transfer.
Enter your domain name and click the Transfer button.
Input your EPP code when prompted.
Click Next to proceed to the payment page, complete the payment, and check out.
In some cases, you may receive an email at your administrative email address asking you to approve the transfer. Click the approval link if you receive one. However, due to GDPR, this step is becoming less common, and you may not receive an approval email at all.
Now, wait for the transfer to complete. The transfer usually takes 5 to 7 days, and you'll receive an email once it’s successfully completed.
How Much Do Transfers Cost?
Transferring a domain to Clouduxe is free! However, some TLDs require a compulsory one-year renewal during the transfer. For example, if your .com domain expires in one year and you transfer it to Clouduxe, the domain will now expire in two years after the renewal.
You get a bonus of extending your domain registration by one year when you transfer certain TLDs.
