If you buy from Clouduxe as a business rather than as an individual, add a company. It records your business name and VAT number on the account so invoices can be issued in the business' name.

Add a billing address first

Creating a company attaches a billing address from your account to it. If you have no address on file the create can be rejected, so add one on Billing addresses before you start here.

Adding a company

Choose Add company. In the Add a company dialog, fill in Company name, which is required and is the name you want invoices issued in, and VAT number if you have one.

Choose Add company to save. The company appears as a card with the VAT number under it, and the panel confirms with "Company added." You can hold more than one company on the account.

The Companies page with two companies. Each card shows the name and the VAT number exactly as it was typed, spaces and all, and the bin is the only control on it: there is no edit. Example view.

Enter the VAT number carefully

The panel stores the VAT number exactly as you type it. It does not check the format and it does not look the number up anywhere, so a transposed digit or a missing country prefix is saved without complaint and stays on the account until you notice it.

Check it character by character against your registration certificate before you save, then check the card afterwards. What tax ends up on an invoice is settled at invoicing time, which is covered on Tax and currency.

Correcting a company

A saved company cannot be edited. The card carries a delete control and nothing else, so a correction to the name or the VAT number is done by removing the company and adding it again with the right details.

Do them in that order and have the correct details in front of you, because the old record is gone once you confirm the delete.

Nothing checks the number on the way in, and nothing edits it afterwards. A wrong VAT number is put right by deleting the company and adding it again, in that order. Illustration.

Removing a company

Use the trash button on the company card. The dialog Delete this company? names the company that will be removed from your account. Confirm with Yes, remove and the panel reports "Company removed."
