Phone numbers are contact details stored on your account. You can add one and you can delete one.

Adding a number

Add phone opens "Add a phone number" with two fields, Country and Phone number, and an Add phone button. The country picker supplies the dial code and the two-letter country code, so type the national number only.

The number must be at least four characters. Anything the form rejects comes back as "Please correct the errors."

Every number you add is saved as the primary one, so adding a second number moves the Primary badge to the newest.

The list before and after adding a second number. The number just added carries the Primary badge, and the older one stays on file without it. Example view.

The Phone number card on your profile edits the primary number only. This page is where more than one number lives.

Deleting a number

The trash button on a row opens "Delete this phone?" and removes the number once you confirm. Rows the platform will not let you delete have no trash button.

What a number on file is used for

It is contact information on your account, nothing more. In particular, it is not part of signing in:

  • Two-factor authentication is a six-digit code from an authenticator app. There is no SMS option.
  • There is no phone-based account recovery. If you lose your authenticator, that is a support request.

See Security and 2FA for how two-factor actually works on your account.
